SCL INTERNATIONAL

The journey of SCL Nigeria began in 2008 when the then Lord Mayor of the City of London Corporation led a trade delegation to Nigeria to explore business cooperation between London and the Nigerian business community.

One of the key deliverables of that trade delegation was a proposal by construction law practitioners in London to collaborate with Nigeria in building capacity and developing specialist skills in the areas of construction projects and infrastructure law.

The Society of Construction Law UK (SCL UK), among other organisations, was identified as one of the bodies that would drive this initiative. Consequently, the idea of establishing a sister society in Nigeria was conceived to facilitate the process.

Over the years, SCL Nigeria has been building capacity and developing specialist skills for its members and non-members in the areas of construction and infrastructure projects in Nigeria. In doing so, SCL Nigeria has continued to blend the local expertise of indigenous professionals with international best practices in construction projects and infrastructure.
